The advantages of cloth nappies are endless, they are better for the environment, better for your baby and better for your pocket. Starting off, however can be quite the challenge – it’s hard to know which brands to buy and whether cloth nappies will suit your lifestyle.
I was in the same position when I started considering switching to cloth back in 2018. I just knew that I didn’t want to keep throwing away garbage bag after garbage bag of disposable nappies. Back then I took a step in the dark, and just bought a full stash of nappies online. When I was pregnant with my second, I knew that a newborn would not fit into the one size nappies, so as I did before, I made the quick decision of buying a full stash of newborn nappies. Little did I know that my daughter was a big baby and promptly grew out of them after only 4 weeks! To make matters worse, she still didn’t fit well into the one-size nappies I had and so, yet again I had to buy even more nappies!
Putting away my super-cute newborn nappies so quickly, made me feel like I should make these nappies available to other parents to use on their babies. At least they wouldn’t go to waste! With some research, I noticed that nappy hire is not something that is new but is actually very common in countries like the UK and Australia; so, I decided to give it a shot and made my own nappy hire
service – Patatini.
