Hello, I am Ana, mum of 5 month old Iris 😍
When I was pregnant, I knew I wanted to use cloth nappies for my baby. A family member had been using cloth nappies for her daughter and when I saw them it was "love at first sight".
I was aware of the terrible impact disposable nappies have on the environment. Moreover, in contrast to many disposables that are made with chemicals, cloth diapers are made of cotton, bamboo, or microfibre which I knew would be much better for my baby’s skin. I discussed the idea of using cloth nappies with my gynaecologist and she was very supportive of it.
The only thing I regret is that I should have started our journey with cloth nappies sooner. I only started using cloth nappies when my baby was 2 months old. I thought they would be more complicated than disposables and, as a first-time mom, I was afraid that the cloth diaper process would make my life difficult. Today, I use cloth nappies at every nappy change and can truly say that they are just as easy as disposable diapers!
On top of all the other advantages, cloth nappies simply look too cute! There are so many sweet designs around. They look much nicer than disposable nappies on my daughter. I'm looking forward to summer so we can show them off even more!
The one disadvantage I can think of - I cannot resists the variety of funky designs, colours, and fabrics that The Cloth Nappy Company stocks 😆
My piece of advice is to do your 'homework' well. Some brands are not as reliable as others so make sure to research and ask for a consultation. I would like to take this opportunity to thank Brenda for all the advice she has given me. Thanks to her, I made the right investment in cloth nappies and so far, I am very happy with my nappy stash.
